Pitkästä aikaa... Here again...

Tämä kesä oli poikkeuksellisen kuuma, joten käsityöt olivat sivuroolissa suurimman osan kesää. Alkukesästä sain jotakin valmiiksi ja tehtyä mm. yhden pulleronallen, kahden norsun ja lähes kahden lohikäärmeen palasetkin valmiiksi. Aloitin myös yhden viltin virkkaamisen. Nyt kun vähän viileni, olen kutomassa jo neljättä paria sukkia. Alkukesästä tein jo yhden parin. Eli käsityöhommat käynnistyvät taas uudelleen kun helteet helpottivat. Kuvassa keskeneräinen sukkapari ja korissa kaikenlaista sekalaista mitä on tekeillä. Laitan myöhemmin kuvia valmiista ja valmistuvista töistä, mutta nyt täytyy suunnata nukkumaan. Mukavaa loppukesää kaikille!

This summer was exceptionally long and hot here in Finland. Therefore I did not get around to do a whole lot knitting or crocheting. In the beginning of the summer, when it still was a bit cooler, I did make a pair of socks and the parts for one puffy teddy bear, two elephants and almost two dragons. I also started on a blanket. Now that it has finally cooled down a bit, I have in two weeks knitted almost four pairs of woolen socks. Here is a picture of the pair that is still unfinished and my WIP basket. I will later post pics of the other stuff I have done over the summer. But now I'm off to bed. Have a nice rest of the summer everybody!

Hiirulaisystävät ja pari muutakin juttua - Mice Friends and some other finished WIP's

Sainpa viimein kootuksi nämä hiirikaverukset. Osat ovat olleet virkattuina ja täytettyinä viikkokausia, mutta en vain ole saanut aikaiseksi kasata niitä. Hiiret ovat hollantilaisen Stip&Haakin suunnittelemia ja niiden ohjeen voi ostaa Stip&Haakin kotisivuilta. Lankana on käytetty Stylecraftin Special DK:ta, jota minulle on kertynyt aivan valtavat varastot, joten hyvä kun sain pari kerää käytettyä taas pois. Koukkuna oli 3 mm koukku. Hiiristä tuli tosi suuria, en tiedä välittyykö se kuvasta, mutta olin yllättynyt siitä, miten isoja niistä tuli. Minusta nämä hiiret ovat tosi somia, vaikka aluperin en ollut ihan varma siitä miellyttääkö tämä ohje minua erityisesti.
Sain tänään myös valmiiksi toisen parin sukkia Regian 6-säikeisestä sukkalangasta. Kerä on 200 g ja käytin 3,5 mm puikkoja ja tämä oli siis toinen, kokolailla samankokoinen pari (koko 38) tästä yhdestä kerästä, eli aika mukavan riittoisa lankakerä. Lanka on mukavan pehmeää kutoa ja erityisen mukava jalassa. Nämä sukat teinkin, kuten edellisenkin parin, ihan vain itselleni kotisukiksi.
Lisäksi sain tiistaina valmiiksi pienelle poikavauvalle menevän kettu-unirievun. Ohje on One&Two Companyn ja sen voi ostaa Ravelrysta. Samanlaisen tein alkuvuodesta veljenpojalleni, Jonille hänen syntymälahjakseen. Tänä sunnuntaina ovat Jonin ristiäiset ja julkaisen sitten millaisen lahjan tein Jonille hänen ristiäisiinsä.

I finally finished these mice friends! I have crocheted and stuffed all of the parts weeks ago, but never just got around to sew the parts together. The pattern for the mice is by the Dutch Stip&Haak. I usen Stylecraft Special DK and a 3 mm hook. I have a huge stash of this yarn, so I was happy to get rid of a few skeins on these cuties. The mice turned out quite large, I am not sure whether it really shows in the pictures how big they are, but I was surprised by the size. I think these mice are soooo cute, even though I was not originally quite sure whether I loved the pattern or not. 
I also finished a pair of woolen socks today. The yarn is Regia 6 ply and I used 3,5 mm needles. This is a big skein, 200 grams, and I was able to make to pairs of socks (size 38) with it, so quite nice. I really like this yarn, it is very soft to knit and the socks feel nice when you wear them. These socks I made just for myself to wear at home. 
Also, this Tuesday, I finished this Fox security blanket for a little boy. I made the same security blanket earlier this year to my nephew, who is Christened this Sunday. After the Christening, I will show you what I made for him.

Hyvää Uutta Vuotta! - Happy New Year!

Kiirettä on pitänyt, enkä ole ennättänyt joulukuun alun jälkeen päivittämään blogia. Ilokseni voin kertoa, että muutamia käsitöitä on kuitenkin tässä välissä ennätänyt valmistua. Toivon, että vuonna 2018 pystyn tekemään oman ennätykseni, vuosi 2017 oli niin vaikea monella rintamalla, että yksinkertaisesti jaksaminen ja aika eivät riittäneet mihinkään urotöihin käsitöiden saralla. Tämä on kyllä ollut voimaannuttava harrastus nyt, kun taas olen jaksanut jatkaa. Monta työtä on valmistunut ja monta on tekeillä. Teen niistä oman postauksen vähän myöhemmin. Tässä kuitenkin tämän vuoden ensimmäinen valmistunut työ, villasukat Regian 6-säikeisestä raitalangasta.


I have been so busy that I have not managed to update my blog since the beginning of December. I am happy to say, though that I have been able to finish several projects in this time. I hope I can beat my own record from 2016 this year. 2017 was a very difficult in many fronts, so I did not have the possibility to break any records in crafts. This is a great hobby and I has given me so much and I am happy to have been able to continue with my crafts. i have finished several projects, as said and will make a new post about them a bit later. Here is my first finished project for this year, a pair of woollen socks. They are made with Regia 6 ply stripe yarn.
