Red Pegasos

Tein uuden Pegasoksen. Ohje on Heidi Bears designin Fatty Lumpkin. Siipien virkkaamisessa on melkoisesti näperreltävää, mutta tämä pieni punapää on tosi söpö. :)


I finished a new Pegasos. The pattern is Fatty Lumpkin by Heidi Bears design. The wings take some time to make, but I think this little red-head is pretty cute. :)

Välillä taas valmista :) - Something finished for a change

Ilmat ovat olleet kauniit ja olen viettänyt enemmän aikaa tallilla kuin sohvalla virkkuukoukun kanssa. Lisäksi sain käteeni melkoisen tällin tiputtuani hevosen selästä sen säikähdettyä, mikä on myös osaltaan hidastanut töiden valmistumista viimeisen 3 viikon aikana. Nyt kuitenkin valmiiksi tulivat nämä pinkit Reaverse/Converse -sukat sekä fuksia-valkoinen yksisarvinen (Heidi Bears design).

The weather has been wonderful last couple of days and I have spent more time at the stables than on my couch with my hook. And I also fell off my horse after he spooked and got my arm hurt which has slowed by crocheting down temporarily for the past 3 weeks. I did, however, finish these Reaverse/Converse slippersocks in pink and this Unicorn in fuchsia and white, pattern by Heidi Bears design.

Ensimmäinen valmis - First WIP finished

Tällainen Afrikankukkaheppa valmistui tänään. Ohje on Heidi Bears designin Fatty Lumpkin. Näitä heppoja olen tehnyt jo aika monta, mutta minusta ne ovat tosi somia. :)

This African flower horse was finished today. The pattern is by Heidi Bears design and is called Fatty Lumpkin. I have made several of these horses already, but I think they are just too cute. :)

Harmaa heppa - Gray horse

Tein tämän harmaan hevosen kaverini  entisen hevosen, Aalerin, muistolle. Tein mahasta tavallista hieman pulleamman, koska kyseisellä ruunaherralla oli melko ponimaiset muodot. :) Aaleri oli soma ja kiva ja monitoiminen polle. Minusta tästä tuli ihan erityisen kaunis pikku heppa. :)

I made this gray horse to a friend of mine, who had this very cute gray horse called Aaleri. I even stuffed his belly a little bit more than usual, since Aaleri did have a bit fuller figure, at least during the summer time. ;) I think this ended up being an especially pretty little horse.

Amorin ratsu - Cupid's horse

Tästä punaisesta Pegasoksesta tuli valmiina ihan Amorin ratsuksi sopivan näköinen. Ystävänpäivän lähestyessä tuli mieleeni, että tällainen heppahan olisi ihana ystävänpäivälahja. :) Ohje on Heidi Bears designin.

This red Pegasos looks like he could be Cupid's mount! Especially now that he is finished. As the Valentine's day approaches, I came to think that this could be a perfect Valentine's day gift too. :) Pattern by Heidi Bears design.

Pikku Pegasos - Little Pegasos

Tein pyynnöstä punavalkoisen hepan, jolle tulee siivet. Heppa on Heidi Bearsin ohjeella tehty, samoin lisäosana olevat siivet. Pieni punapäinen Pegasos on sievä heppanen. Tai ei se kovin pieni itseasiassa ole, näistä Afrikankukkaeläimistä tulee aina aika suuria. Hepalla on tässä vasta toinen siipi tehtynä ja kiinnitettynä nuppineuloilla, mutta laitan vielä myöhemmin kuvan valmiista hepasta.

I had a request to make a red and white horse with wings. The pattern for this horse and also for the extra parts; the wings, are by Heidi Bears. This little red-heades Pegasos is a very cute horsy. Then again, these African flower animals are never very small. :)
Here there is only one wing ready and it is not yet sewed on, it's just pinned to the side. I will post a pic of the ready horse once I get him/her finished.

Sain viimein päätettyä lila-valko-musta -hepan kukkien suunnittelutyön. Olipa jotenkin tällä kertaa ongelmallista. Mutta tähän päädyin.

I finally decided how to use the ordered colors; purple, black and white, in the African flowers for the horse. For some reason it was particularly difficult this time. But this is what I came up with.

Pitäisi tehdä uusi heppa. Toivomus väreistä oli musta, valkoinen ja lila. Vaan missä järjestyksessä. Tein tänään junamatkan ratoksi muutaman testikukkasen. En osaa oikein päättää mikä olisi paras. Väriyhdistelmä kun ei ole oma valinta, on erityisen vaikea päättää. Muussa tapauksessa ehkä en käyttäisi juuri näitä värejä. Täytynee jättää hautumaan. Vaikka toisaalta tekisi mieli jo päästä aloittamaan tämä projekti...

Test flowers

I was asked to make another horse. The wish was to get one in black, white and purple. I cannot decide in which order I will use the colors, so I made some test flowers. Since the colors were not my own choice, it is even harder to decide how to use them, since I do not have a clear vision in beforehand. I guess I will have to let it simmer a bit. Then again, I kind of feel like getting started with this project already...

A new project

I got a request for a horse that was grey and purple.

Täyttämisvaihe on kriittinen lopputuloksen kannalta. Isoilla möykyillä täytetty pehmolelu on tosi kökön näköinen. Kannattaa käyttää vähän enemmän aikaa täyttämiseen ja muotoilemiseen, niin lopputulos on siisti ja kivan näköinen.


Filling the horse nicely and evenly is very critical in order to get a nicely stuffed animal. If the stuffing is in big lumps the end result will look very unpleasant. Sometimes you see stuffed animals that are very unevenly stuffed. It is worth it to take your time to stuff and shape the project very carefully.

Kannattaa käyttää kunnollista vanua, jonka voi tarvittaessa myös pestä.

It is worth your while to use good quality stuffing, which can also be washed, if necessary.

Fatty Lumpkin

Olen tehnyt myös paljon erilaisia afrikankukkaheppoja. Kesälomalla ennätin virkata aika monta. Niistä suurin osa meni lahjaksi eri paikkoihin. Tässä kuvia muutamista. Itse heppaihmisenä tämä malli on lähellä sydäntäni. ;) Tämäkin on Heidi Bears design mallista "Fatty Lumpkin".

I have also crocheted several African flower horses/ponies. During my summer holiday I had a lot of time to crochet. <3 Most of these were made as gifts. Here are a few of them. As a horsey person myself, this is one of my favorite designs by Heidi Bears.
