Triceratops

Tämän afrikankukkadinosauruksen olen tehnyt kerran aikaisemminkin, mutta oranssina. Nyt Triceratopsin pohjavärinä oli jade. Ohje on Heidi Bears designin Plod the African Flower Triceratops ja sen löytää mm. Ravelrysta. Lankana tässä työssä on puuvillasekoitelanka ja koukkuna 2,5 mm koukku. Tämä dino menee pienelle pojalle, toivottavasti hän pitää siitä.
Ja seuraavaksi taas keskeneräisten töiden pariin...


I have made this African Flower dinosaur once before, in orange. Now the base color for the dino is jade. The pattern is by Heidi Bears design's Plod the African Flower Triceratops and it may be found from at least in Ravelry. The yarn used was a cotton blend and the hook a 2,5 mm hook. This dino will go to a little boy and I hope he will like it.
Next up... Trying to finish different kinds of wip's...

Hämähäkkimies - The Spiderman

Tein tällaisen hämähäkkimiehen 3 vuotta täyttävälle veljenpojalleni syntymäpäivälahjaksi. Ohje on Mary Smithin ja löytyy Ravelrysta. Lankana tässä on puuvillasekoitelanka, jota muutenkin käytän paljon erilaisissa pehmoissa. Koukkuna oli 3 mm koukku. Tämä hämis oli ihan hauska tehdä, joskin viimeistely vei aikaa, kun kaikki seittikuviot piti käsin ommella/kirjailla lopuksi nuken päälle. Nyt on sormet kipeet, pitäisiköhän sitä hankkia sormustin? Tästä tuli tällä langalla aika kivan kokoinen, mitattua nukkea ei tullut, mutta veikkaisin korkeudeksi jotakin 35 cm huitteilla. Käyttämäni lanka oli hieman ohuempaa, kuin ohjeessa, mutta minusta tämä koko oli kolmevuotiaalle aika passeli. Ohje oli hieman hankalaselkoinen paikoin ja siinä oli pari virhettäkin. Käytin ohjetta välillä enemmänkin antamassa osviittaa. Sama suunnittelija on suunnitellut näitä nukkeja muistakin supersankareista. Ehkäpä myöhemmin teen vielä jonkin toisenlaisen. Mutta en kyllä ihan heti (jos ikinä) uutta hämistä. Sen verran oli pipertämistä sormissa ja seiteissä.


I made this Spiderman for my nephew for his birthday today. He turned three. The pattern is by Mary Smith and may be found in Ravelry. The yarn I used was a cotton blend yarn, which I use a lot for the crocheted animals I make. I used a 3 mm hook. 
This was a fun project, but the finishing took quite a while. All the spider web (in black) had to be embroidered and now my fingers hurt! I think this Spiderman turned out quite nice and is a nice size too for a three year old. The pattern called for worsted weight yarn, but I used sport weight. The doll is approximately 35 cm tall, although I did not measure him, so I am not sure. The pattern was a bit hard to follow at some parts and some of the time I only used it as a guideline. Mary Smith has also designed some other super hero dolls. Maybe I'll make another one at some point. But never ever this one again! My fingers hurt too bad!

Vähän kaikenlaista taas tekeillä... My newest WIP's

Hetki mennyt edellisen työn valmistumisesta. Viimeiset pari viikkoa olen saanut aika vähän jotenkin aikaiseksi. Olen viimeistellyt Carousell vilteistä ensimmäistä, batik-versiota. Teen siitä hieman suuremman kuin ohjeessa oli. Eli vielä muutama kerros, sekä reunuksen päättelytyöt. Onneksi suurin osa on jo päätelty, niin ei tule hermoromahdusta, kuten 49ers viltin kanssa, heh. Kolme muuta ovat vielä melkoisesti kesken. Mutta kaikki ajallaan.
Muutama muukin juttu on tekeillä. Nalle myssyssään on odotellut niveliä, jotka saapuivat postista viimeinkin. Tilasin ne Etsystä, mutta niillä kestä tavanomaista kauemmin saapua. Tästä nallesta tulee niiiiin soma! Mäyris odottaa edelleen kasaamista. Pari afrikankukkajuttua on ihan alkutekijöissään, samoin veljenpoikani Spiderman. Tein myös pari koekukkaa kahdella eri langalla erästä huivia ajatellen ja aloitin myös yhtä hippi-villatakkia. Lisäksi isoäidinneliövillatakkinen odottaa päättelyä. Eli puuhaa riittää. Kuvia sitten taas kun saan jotakin valmiiksi. Mukavaa ja virkkauksentäyteistä viikonloppua!


It has been a while since I finished my last work, which was the 49ers blanket. During the last couple of weeks I haven't got much done. I have been working on one of my four Carousel blankets, a batik one. I am making it a bit bigger than the original blanket in the pattern. So, a few more laps to go and also some ends to sew in. Luckily most are already sewn in, so no need for a nervous breakdown, like with the 49ers blanket... The three other ones still need quit a bit of work. But all in do time.
I also have a few other wip's on the way. The little teddy with the hat on has been waiting for my delivery of doll joints, which I ordered from Etsy. I took a while longer than usually, but I finally got them, so now I can finish him. Yey, he is gonna be so cute! The wiener dog is still awaiting for me to put him together. And then there are a couple of African flower thingies that I have just started. And a little Spiderman doll. And I also made two test flowers for a shawl I might be making. And I started working on a hippie-sweater. Plus, I still need to sew in the ends for my granny square shrug. So I have plenty to do. I'll post pictures as I finish something new. Have a good weekend!
